Drone Services FAQ

Answers about booking, airspace, weather, delivery, pricing and what each service includes.

Ask Us Something
Do I need any permits or approvals for my shoot?

As an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot, we request the airspace authorizations your location needs, including LAANC approvals in controlled airspace. Near airports or in restricted areas, we arrange approvals before your shoot where they are available.

What happens if the weather is bad on shoot day?

Safety always comes first. We monitor weather conditions closely and will reschedule if wind speeds exceed safe limits or if precipitation is expected. Rescheduling due to weather is free of charge.

How do I receive my photos and videos after the shoot?

All final files are delivered through a secure digital download link. You'll receive photos (JPEG) and video (MP4) formatted for web, MLS upload and social media. We'll confirm your delivery timeline when you book, and rush options are available when scheduling allows.

How does pricing work?

Each package lists what is included. Prices marked "From" are starting prices. Tell us the address and what you need, and we'll confirm the scope and total before booking.

Do you do private shoots, like cars or family photos?

Yes. Car photo shoots start at $199 and family or group photos from above start at $299. Have a different idea, like a boat, a proposal or a graduation? Email us the location and what you have in mind, and we'll put together a quote.

What do your roof and inspection services include?

We provide visual photo documentation of roofs, rooftop equipment and structures for you or your contractor. Diagnostic testing, certified inspections and engineering reports are not included.

Are you insured?

Yes. Up Top Visuals carries commercial drone liability insurance and is FAA Part 107 certified. All flights follow FAA rules, and we plan every flight with safety first.

Do you service areas outside of Long Island?

We serve all of Long Island, NY. Have a project somewhere else? Email us at UpTopVisualsLI@gmail.com with the location and what you need, and we'll let you know if we can make it work.

Can I request specific shots or a shot list?

Absolutely. We encourage clients to share reference photos, specific angles or a detailed shot list before the shoot. The more info you give us, the better we can tailor the session. We'll also do a pre-shoot consultation for larger projects.

What areas of Long Island do you serve?

All of Nassau and Suffolk counties, from the Gold Coast and the South Shore to the Hamptons and the North Fork. See our areas page for the towns we cover.

What services do you offer?

Aerial photo and video for real estate, event coverage, construction progress visits, roof and rooftop photo documentation, business promo video and overhead watch. Mapping, thermal and tower work are project inquiries.

How do I book a shoot?

Choose a package on the pricing page or send us a request with the address and what you need. We reply and confirm the scope and total before booking.

Can you fly near airports?

Often, yes. Much of Long Island is near controlled airspace, and we request the authorizations your location needs before the shoot. Approval depends on the location and cannot be guaranteed.

Do you shoot commercial properties?

Yes. We offer commercial aerial photos, property video, business promo video, roof documentation and construction visits.

Do you provide surveys, thermal imaging or engineering reports?

No standard package includes them. We provide visual documentation. Mapping, thermal imaging and tower work are project inquiries, and we do not provide boundary surveys or engineering sign-off.
